- note down each & every piece of information about the project
- classify this information into known categories like:
-- scope of the project
-- goals / milestones - major, minor, etc. to be achieved
-- required resources like manpower, tools, environment, etc.
- evaluate the time & the cost required for the above resources
- analyse the risks involved & classify them into Major, Minor, etc.
- confirm whether have all the knowledge & capability to work on the project or
- do you need to do more research on it as well
