I am a cancer female and married to a taurus for 14 yrs, we have had our disagreements but we stay together, he is bullheaded and i am more emotional, i tend to take everything to heart, while he takes care of everything else, he has a good head, i think either way, female taurus and male cancer can stick together thru thick and thin, both are into families except cancers tend to sneak inside themselves while taurus is more outgoing

Cancer married to a Taurus - 8 years separate us. Our relationship has stood the test of time. All our frtiends divorced years ago. with us its either Very Very good!!! or very very bad.. and that was okay as long as the good outweighs the bad by alot. i think they call it passion between us - positive and negative.

on the face of it --yes. water+earth, however there is much more to it than just the sun signs which you are speaking of...one of the important things would be where is your venus and his mars....are your moon signs compatible.....does saturn affect either of you in a not-so-nice way............
so.........if you want a correct and actual compatibility then you need to have a "relationship" chart made by any competent astrologer. you can also go to astrodienst.com and maybe be able to glean a little info from that site. good luck!
