A pure emotion is like the joy felt when one sees an excellent and unexpected event like a complete rainbow. This needs no interpretation.

Some emotions, like sadness, combine thoughts with emotions. In order to be sad, one must understand personal hurt or lack of something.

"Mixed emotions" is a phrase used to describe a mental condition where one or more emotions are combined with thoughts. As the thoughts change, the "flavor" of the emotions changes and so the individual will feel confused. This usually causes a confusion in the thinking which changes the state once again.

If you are writing something about mixed emotions, just remember a time when you felt very confused and you could not tell exactly which emotions you were feeling.

Mixed emotions are emotions that you can not define, made up of emotions that you might think, or not, that you know.

You mix fear + love + sadness = a mixed emotion. It's easy enough to make up an equation like this in words, but in your heart, baby, it's going to feel a lot more complicated than this.

We need more words. More words for all these mixed emotions out there. We need an emotion specialist. An emotive superman or superwoman that can feel all of them emotions, and study them under the microscope, and give them names.

Let's all chew on rocks, and see what kind of mixed emotions we get when we break our teeth.

Mixed emotions are just as the words imply. For example, You love your husband with all your heart, but at times he infuriates you to the point that you want to strangle him. Another example, you want to tell a friend something to help him improve himself, but in telling him, you may hurt his feeling badly. The list goes on and on.You get the idea.

Have you ever wondered if you should laugh or cry and cannot choose? Imagine your enemy or a person you cannot tolerate giving you a gift - something you have wanted for a long time. You are expected to be gracious and grateful but...you are wondering what the catch is or the ulterior motive so it makes the gift difficult to enjoy.
