should i go to the town with my friends?

my friends are going to the city. they asked to come,just to hang out, walk around + maybe shopping. the thing is, i'd like to go but one thing that irritates me is when they're shopping it seems like they like show their stuff to other friends, how much money do u have?who's the best dressed? who's got the coolest stuff?

not everyone are well off. but u know..peer pressure and social influence and stuff like that.. they act like rich girls when they're not. they're good friends, but sometimes i don't feel comfortable when they act like that. bunch of materialistics! maybe it's just today's culture?

i'm not sure if i should go with them. if im going, i would probably just sit around, or make the group looks much bigger...wohh im confused..i've been spending most of my time indoors becoz of my studies..i mean really, what else can i do in the city apart from being girlish + shopping + giggling like little bitches (which is really not my thing) around the city?

go out and enjoy with your frends gurl, life's short. some wish they had frends (even if they happen to be bitches). I have reservations about all my friends, evn my best friend, but as much as you can, let them know. They are the friends you have...some ppl dont get to appreciate the importance of each digit on their hand until they loose one. Let them know you don't like showing off, they'll understand (it's a part of getting to know you). Your friends should know you, or they are not your friends (if they dont know you that is).

It sounds like you need some quality time after all that studying, but shopping with the girls isn't so much fun for you. Are you too shy to hang-out on your own? Go out for a walk, spend the afternoon at a cafe or call a friend to go out. Shopping is not your only option.

If your not going to enjoy it then don't go. But if you want to get away from the books and clear your head a bit why not "act" the part. A female friend an I use to go to the most exclusive shops in Boston. I'd act the part of the rich boyfriend and hold things up to see if they would flatter her figure etc...We had a ball dismissing the $1,000 dollar dress as unfit for her taste. We kept the ball rolling for hours then went got an ice cream gone and then hit bargain basement sales. It was just an escape from reality for a day.

you can do all kinds of stuff, but you seem so smart, and you've got the relationships down - you know the girls are going to be girls but then again you said they are good friends.
since you've been sitting inside studying so long, it's great to get out. it's good for you. (all work and no play makes jack a dull boy). the whole time you're with you're friends won't be awful - most of the time you'll have fun cause you're friends, and if they get that materialistic attitude, just kind of wander off and check out stuff that interest you. if you're shopping - there can be lots of time to slip away and check out stuff you like.
the world is defintiely serious and you obviously know it - but balance yourself a little sometimes with fun.

Why not make some more friends who are in the characters like the way ur? You have to learn how to live on your own, not just follow others. It doesn't do anything good u go out with friends that u don't like.
