Click in my computer it does not shows, but I can still play music through winamp and I have Roxio installed. My DVD drive is also not working. I used Device Manager, both drives have a question mark beside them, I uninstalled and try to reinstall and it did not fix the problem. When I insert a cd it goes through all the motions cd drive lights work but that is it.

Depending on which controller you have your two drives connected to, you may have an IDE controller problem. Ensure that both the primary and secondary IDE controllers are enabled in the bios (the most common way to get into the bios is to hit the "DEL" key during the power on process, however different PC manufacturers use different keys such as the F2, F10, or F12 to enter the bios setup) Also make sure that there is no problems listed with the IDE controllers in device manager.

first uninstall the drive thru device manager. then restart ur system. normally your plug n play operating system wil detect the new hardware and will try to install the needed software drivers for that. the drivers are comming with windows CD..

if the problem still exits. open the cabinet and try to unplug and plug the data cable of the drive. then restarts the system.. your drive may be working ok now..
else try to reinstall windows once again... it wil defenitely solve problem

The Drivers are built into the operating system. Remove the Drivers from Device Manager and restart the PC. If the drivers are not install, install the OS which installs the Drivers.

First... uninstall the drivers in device manager...
then restart the computer and provide any or all drivers asked for...

It could be a hardware problem... and it could be as simple as cleaning the dust off the lens.
