I challenge every Christian to study the above with an open mind, if that is remotely possible.

There will always be people who disapprove of homosexuality on religious grounds. However, the following would irreparably damage the religious sect reducing it to almost nothingness:
1. Science finding proof that sexual orientation is genetic/biological.
2. A vaccine and cure for HIV/AIDS.
3. Aliens visiting earth.
Point 1 would wipe out any theories of homosexuality being a choice, or caused by bad childhood. Also, more people would then believe that God actually made some people homosexual.
Point 2 would wipe out the belief that HIV/AIDS is God's judgement on homosexuality. The fact that straight people can get these diseases should have been sufficient, but it may take something a bit bigger.
Point 3 isn't really relevant to sexuality, but it would create an interesting dilemma for traditional religion.

happening slowly (step by step) and is much a part of the churches journey as it is for any gay person's journey if the they are destined to come together in their lifetimes.
the loudest people tend to be spinmeisters and possibly the most ignorant, so you can't do anything really but feel sadness for 'religious' people spouting hate.
i can so feel your frustration, and your own conclusion is the greatest - it's God's world, God's plan, and God's law - and the Master thankfully will be here to teach and judge, and you won't have to be so frustrated anymore.
Most important thing is not what people think.
God Sees. God knows.

As soon as Christians renounce their faith, their God, and the moral imperative to raise their families in a society that represents all of those.
Society is a breeding association! Don't you get it? If you aren't in support of breeding, you are against it. Period. You may have noticed, that the connecting thread throughout the Bible, is a breeding list. Marriage is the proscribed means for BREEDING! Sex may also be fun, but that is not what Christians believe it is for.

I think that you may not recognize there are many, many people who do NOT villify homosexuals...As to how long it will take for everybody to accept that homosexuals are now...and always have been..a part of all culture and all societies. I saw this list once of people who are/were homosexuals...many, many extremely intelligent and gifted folks. You can find that list of the net I'm sure...Oh...there are lots of Christians who do NOT villify homosexuality either.

Based on the current constellation of generations and the social proress already made, I would think that significant progress will be made in many mainstream religions in around 60 years.
Some people and some conservative religions will never accept homosexuals.

ok, wow, so I studied this in graduate school. If one Christian in a high ranking position questions the validity of a Christian ban on homosexuality, then about 200 years later this persons ideas will be mainstream

they will never accept us gays..... because the bibble tells them that. my view on this is if they want a book written by mortals more than 2000 yrs ago to guide their lives, then so be it!
dont freaking drag us into this whole mess that you have accepted with open arms!
gays really dont care, I sincerely believe that God is a Her . i'd like to see the looks on the faces of those christians when they find that out..... and everything that they believed in was merely a joke......
i'd laught at them till they turn blue even if i had to go to hell after that! that would be a wonderful way to start my eternity in hell!
i embrace whatever that may come in the future. unlike those fundamentalists that hide behind the cloak of the bibble....
thats my view, honest to God!
