This question is bogus for two reasons.
This quesiont reflects attitudes that go beyond ideology.
Secondly, it is not about hiding it is about privacy.
I dare you to post your home phone number, why wouldn't you? "duh duh duh because its private"
In Griswold Vs. Connecticut the supreme court ruled that although not overtly stated privacy is a right due to the function and role of the Amendments.
All americans should give the government less power over our privacy.
