I want to customize a button or two on my toolbar that will give me quick access to a daily planner/date book/address book/things to do list/Emails to return etc.
I want it to be somewhat detailed with several functions yet easy to access and easier to use as it is meant to be a convenience item not a hinderance to my day. I actually have never heard of such a thing but I am sure that thousands of these types of things that exist.

You can use either google's calender service or yahoo's calender service.You can look into them using your yahoo or google desktop or widget engine.
