Just looking at records and consistency, I would say Shahid Afridi is the most attacking batsman. He has most of records to his name (like fastest centuries, more sixes, highest run in a over) and has been consistently scoring and attacking for last 10 years. All other have changed their game with the time or have been playing defensive games also but not Afridi.

dhoni has still to proove , he didnt play against any top team like australia, south africa or new zealand , he has showed his power only at home, afridi is best striker but he is average is low, gilgrist and jayasurya are well accomplished batsmen and great strikers

it should be gilly since he has good average in both form of games.

*Cricket skill should be evaluated by their achievements not by their look (if dhoni is handsome with long hair , he should not be the best player, he can be best as bollywood star or play boy!!!!)

My vote is for Shahid Afridi. He is simply mad when cricket bat is given in his hands! The hardest hitter of cricket ball in modern era cricket. Same cannot be said about Jayasurya or Gilchrist. They depend on their Technique too to some extent. It is not just power they have. Regarding Dhoni , it is still premature to say about. And many of us forget just one player when talking about hitters. It is none other than Sachin Tendulkar in his first few years of international cricket. How can one forget an exhibition one day mach in Pakistan in 1989 , when 16 year old Sachin hit 52 runs in 16 balls!!.Abdul Quadir and Waquar Younis[ who was just 17] were the unlucky bowlers.
