Westerners don't know nor do they care too much about Islam. But for most, when we first heard about the motivation of terrorists, we hear new words like "Jihad", "Allah", etc.

That's the first impressions for a lot of us. We didn't go looking for this "first impression", -some of Islam's "Jihadists" threw it on our doorstep.

Now you ask westerners to accept a full clearer picture of what Islam is?? Then fine, -tell us how you condemn the barbaric practice of random murders and killing innocents.

On a Pure white sheet of paper put a pinch of mud on a corner.

Now if u ask what u see showing the paper.

All will answer mud.

If its given to some one for writing something, he will throw away the paper saying its dirty.

The conclusion is that even though the Mud on the Pure white paper is not even occupying 1% of it its condsidered dirty.

Same with the muslim community.

There are billions of muslims and terrorists probably jus in hundreds still cos of ignorance ppl see only the terrorists as muslims.

Another reason which helps in this notion is cos humans eyesight is very powerful medium into ur head.
Tat is more than any other religion Muslims can be recognised easily by their dressing. So the same dressing when is used by a terrorist ,you feel he looks like a muslim so you attribute the terrorsits rudeness to an ordianry muslim when he has got nothing to do with the terrorist or his attitude.

The FACT of the matter is, not ONLY do many people are ignorant about Islam and Muslims, they NEVER heard of Islam or Muslims before 9/11. Islam is a proud wide religion, second to Christianity, and the majority of Muslims DO NOT care what you think of them, because they are every day people you see, work, earn, live and die like a Christian. However, you do have a bad people with in Islam, same as Christians and other religions. The West is at war with Muslim extremists, and they DID NOT teach their citizens what the difference between Muslims and Muslim extremists are. It is just ignorance, and ignorance will kill you at last.

The Muslim religion is a significant force in our world. I am far from an expert but there are many aspects of the religion that are appealing. Unfortunately, it has been used by too many people that wish to develop their own political agenda.
The main criticism I have of Islam is that it does not seem to develop and take account of a changing world. How do we encourage the intellectual debate?
We are wrong to connect Islam with terrorism. We probably do not understand Muslims and we need to correct this. We are not fair to Muslims. I do not think we need Muslims to defend themselves but we have an obligation to educate ourselves about Muslims and Islam.

To me, it saddens me when I hear about all the violence in the middle east. Every day Muslims are dying at the hands of other Muslims. What angered me about Muslims, was on 9/11 when the towers fell, video from around the world showed Muslims dancing in the streets, cheering and carrying on. Celebrating the violent deaths of innocent people. If Muslim are a peaceful, loving people, they should have shown compassion, for the loss of those people, not jubilation.

There are two sides to every paranoid story, the Muslim people are being taught to hate the west particularly the Americans they see all Americans as the same and so why do we not see all of them as the same???? We are not allowed to do this we are told we are bigots and war mongers.
Just look at this site there are Muslim people out there preaching hate trying to get a rise out of the so called Christians, trying to make them selves feel good hidden in their little rooms playing at Jihad by the tongue (jihad bil lisan) like they are mujahadin.
If they were to give up and try and listen to what others are trying to say they might find we in the western world are not bad, its been 1200 years since we had a Crusade.

Most Muslims do not want trouble, their just like you or I.
I do not see any Muslims being killed here in the states or any places of worship burning , so where is the hate on our part ?
I personally know several Muslims and they are good people>
They think the terrorists are just murderers hiding behind a cause

well the obvious answer is that muslims in the middle east (and i'm making a broad generalization here) hate americans and are terrorists....i personally give muslims a chance and believe i am fair because i honestly doubt that the koran says "KILL ALL AMERICANS"...they just believe they are doing Allah's will, God help them for that....and no i can't ever say that i have aked one to defend their religion, but i know that my college is close to a muslim church and i often see them "enagelizing" to fellow students and they have been nothing but peaceful...at least here anyway....takes me back to that broad generalization about middle east muslims hating americans...

It's all a big misunderstanding. We should reach out and give em a hug and ask em what's bothering you.
They're the ones that declared war. They're the ones that attacked NYC, Madrid, London. Terror cells being found all over EU. They are the ones that are intolerant against all other religions. They are the ones that riot, burn, and murder when they see cartoons in newspapers of mohammed. They are the ones that sentenced the Afghani to death because he dared change his religion, the religious leaders do not speak up against the terrorists. They tolerate it or even covertly support it.
They've had their chance. If they want to belong to a free and civilised world they could put an end to terrorism by cutting off the finances and denouncing terrorism.
You won't find this in the mainstream media:
Al Qaeda terrorists were planning to use cameras to disguise bombs and flash attachments as stun guns in a disrupted hijack plot that targeted the U.S. east coast, Britain, Italy and Australia, U.S. officials say.

The plot was one of three previously unknown al Qaeda hijack plots disrupted before they could be carried out, according to a Department of Homeland Security report obtained by ABC News.

The report, a strategic assessment on U.S. aviation, says despite security improvements, “DHS continues to receive information on terrorist threats to the U.S. aviation industry and to the Western aviation industry worldwide.”

The previously secret plots include one in which “Al-Qa’ida planned to hijack flights departing London’s Heathrow Airport and crash them into the airport and a skyscraper in the Canary Wharf financial district of London.”

The plot using cameras and flash attachments was foiled in the summer of 2003, according to the report.

Homeland Security officials say it is an example of al Qaeda adapting “to increased aviation security by shifting planned suicide hijackings from domestic carriers to international flights…to take advantage of perceived less effective security screening at some foreign airports.”

The officials says al Qaeda’s “ingenuity was evident” in its attempts to convert camera equipment and other non-threatening items into weapons that could be smuggled onto a plane. It warns such items could be used to bring down an aircraft or “to gain access to an airliner flight deck.”

The third previously secret al Qaeda plot revealed in the document involved a May 2003 al Qaeda plan to fly “an explosive-laden general aviation aircraft into the U.S. Consulate in Karachi, Pakistan.”

The report concludes that there have been nine similar plots since September 2001 “demonstrating a continued commitment to attack aviation-related targets.”

We don't cry over NYC 9-11, Madrid, and London but you better not forget either because they haven't gone away. Do you want to be on that airplane next time?
