Hi, I am now in remission from an incurable auto-immune disease. I tried almost everything and spent a lot of money. Reiki helped short-term but more for de-stressing. I think you have to "clean out" everything physical and emotional in your life. Eat really well, take supplements, exercise in the fresh air, and write down a list every evening of all the things you are grateful for in your life. Forgive people you feel anger towards..that anger is just rebounding on yourself and blocking your well-being. Meditation is as good as Reiki and you can do it yourself with a few basic lessons. Keep on any medications and do all this as well. Good luck!

Well there are people that use every cause to take some one Else's money, even the good ones. Reiki can not do harm but if you do not believe it would not work, it is self healing no one is doing the healing the Reiki practitioner is only a chanel for the energy but if you do not change the way you think it would not work, because if the practitioner helps you balance your energy and there you go after you finish your treatment and think it did not work, chances are it did not, you have to have an open mind and believe that only you and God will help you heal Reiki is Marley a chanel to help you reach that energy, anyone can have the healing touch, but not every one can reach the state of mind and the spirituality it needs to get there.....use ur body mind and soul you are the chanel, you are the healer...God uses us as a chanel to help you, but you have to believe.........many blessings

I think that if the Medical world has not been able to develop a cure for a disease, then you have absolutely nothing to lose by trying alternative methods.
As long as you keep an open mind when going into it, there is a chance that things can improve - it may not cure a condition, but it can definately reduce symptoms.

If it's an incurable disease then everythings worth a try. I have heard of people who just go on an ultra healthy diet with no nasties in whatsoever and they seem to get better!

I am also a Reiki teacher, and I can say that it is real and legitimate. Those who claim that it's a scam, or tell you that it is all in the mind really don't know the facts. They haven't studied the art, and they don't live the life of a healer. As for what it can offer you? It can offer you relaxation, compassion, comfort, the reduction in pain, the calming of anxieties and so on. Nothing in energy healing is every promised, but these are very common results from Reiki patients worldwide. I wish you the very best, and peace as you deal with your illness.

Reiki is fake, I'm sorry to say it but modern Reiki is complete BS. Herbal medicines however, are a much better alternative and are more effective in some cases than surgery or prescription drugs.

They're right for some people, aren't for others. It's the same with any other method of healing. At least they aren't just throwing pills at the problem like doctors usually do.

you had me saying bull@$# when i saw the word "alternative." a few are decent, but most are a bunch of bull and people simply feel better because they think it is working (placebo effect) and most clinical studies back me up. i guess they do give people hope though, which is nice. in alternative medicine, there is always something else to do which gives hope, western medicine you can either do something or you cant since it is based on facts and not cleansing yourself with lemonade or some crap. its dangerous though when there are effective western treatments taht work and people opt to take a natural route thatt doesnt, such as what happens with cancer patients sometimes who are scared of chemo or radiation treatment.

IF YOU HAVE AN INCURABLE DISEASE, THEN HOW CAN IT BE HEALED BY ANY METHOD AVAILABLE?
WE AS HUMANS ARE ALL IN A DYING CONDITION FROM THE MOMENT WE ARE CONCEIVED.
MEDICAL SCIENCE CAN ONLY RELIEVE THE SYMPTOMS TO A CERTAIN DEGREE.
THE LUCK OF THE DRAW CAN PROVIDE US WITH A REASONABLE HEALTHY AND PAIN FREE EXISTENCE, UNTIL THE POINT WHERE WE DIE.
WHERE AS OTHERS CAN SUFFER CRUELLY THROUGHOUT LIFE.

The "alternative methods" market place is fraught with scams and lies. The make claims that the 'real' doctors hate them, are threatened by them, and therefore think they can "legitimize" themselves because they are despised.
The offer false hope, take others money, and after the patient has died, move on to 'help' the next person out of their money.
The old adage, "buyer beware" is applicable.
