in my opinion, it will be total chaos, the 'good' iraqis and their fragile new govt will get slaughtered. How do we clean this up?

we have to stay there now to finish the mess we started, my honest opinion is that we should have never started it in the first place, but were in over our heads now. We lost over 2,500 soldiers and if we just pull out nothing would have gotten accomplished. its a catch 22 eaither way you go

US shouldnt have entered Iraq.
Now its a total mess.
If US leaves or not its goin to be like tat only.
By entering Iraq US has ruined Iraq in an irreversible manner.
Now there is nothing that can be done.
Better US leave Iraq and atleat try 2 get away from the problem and save its own army atleast.
Note: No one likes an intruder in their house even if the house is in chaos(or said to be in chaos)or not.

it does seem that history does in fact repeat itself. 40 years ago the same scenario existed with a little country called VIETNAM! many of our leaders and those that supported them were saying the same thing? it we leave Vietnam then nothing would have been accomplished and the men/women that died would have died for no reason so we need to stay!! in the end we left and 58k people died and the Vietnamese people did with their country as they wanted. while we may have halted a premature spread of communism we didnt really didnt solve much more than that. a hell of a price we paid for that 58k dead and 100s of billions of dollars spent. now iraq is the new vietnam and 40 years from now will have similar consequences regardless of whether we leave tomorrow or 10 years form now!!

I don't know what you think gives the US the right to be there now anyway. It's not like you're entitled to have a military force in a sovreign country. It's merely on the might is right principle that you're there now.
The insurgency issue hasn't subsided one iota since Dubya announced so smuggly that the mission was accomplished. How is your presence helping?
