hmm see you can do it in simple way,
(8x-3x) = (5x+ 3x)
i.e.x ( 8-3) = x (5+3)
i.e 5x = 8x
i.e 5 = 8

Any equation including the term '* 0' is bound to = 0.
All you have said is 5 * 0 = 8 * 0.

The original equation is false.
Is r = p/q, (p/q)2 = 5 true?

No.
In a way, your equation says that '5X0 = 8X0'. This is definitely true. But 5 is not equal to 8.
Think of it, if what you are saying is true, isn't it that Good = Bad.
Look at your equation carefully and consider.
