Can't comment on the Integra but I own a 2004 WRX and I absolutely love it. Tons of power, great handling and very dependable. I haven't regretted my purchase for a second. The powerband is a bit tricky to get the hang of as it doesn't really hit until about 3500 rpm but when it does, Wow! The handling is very good, a little too much understeer than I'd like but that isn't too difficult to anticipate and deal with if you know what you're doing. With good tires it handles the snow very well but you must be a bit more aggressive (that doesn't mean drive faster) for it to really shine in snowy conditions.
If I had to complain, I'd say having to use premium gas is a pain and this car eats tires fast (all subaru's do really). It's a combination of the AWD system, weight distribution and the fact that this car is an absolute blast to drive fast on windy roads.
All in all, the best car I've ever owned and after I drive it into the ground, I'll buy another one.

first i just want to say that WRX's are NOT overhyped. they handle well, have awesome top-end power, and here in new england the AWD is great.
i personally like both cars a lot. They are BOTH very sought after therefore both for a younger guy are pricey to insure because of performance and theft.
If i was looking at acura's in the price range of a WRX, i would look for either a DC2 (round lights) style Type R, or just jump to a DC5 which is the RSX. Both have about 200hp, close gears and handle great. However the RSX does have a 6th gear and the Type R has short gears. The K20 in the RSX is just awesome too, but the B18 is quite impressive too.
The 2.0 WRX is easy to get tons of power out of. a few grand and you'd be around 285hp. 04 and newer have a stronger tranny which helps with the boat load of torque. the new 2.5l ones have a little more get-up off the line, but the 2.0 likes to rev more.
overall the two cars stock side by side are very close, you just need to drive both to see whether you like to raw torque and AWD of a WRX, or the awesome power of the Acura's when v-tec kicks in and you push them to 8000+rpms..

Well, I have owned both cars.
1997 Acura Integra GS -I loved that car. It was short, very sporty, and handled well.
-I even drove it better than my husband! (He races...,but had never had a front well drive car before.)
I do miss it, it had lots of PeP, even though it isn't one of the faster cars out there.
2002 Subaru Impreza WRX - I won't give it up! I need the room for my family. It is definately MY Family vechicle, even with all the mods I have done to it. Though I normally meet w/Subaru gurus throughout the SEregion. Most of the drivers are younger & into mods. There are enough people out there who can appreciate the factory "settings" & still have loads of fun with the car.
I would say that the Subaru ALL WHEEL Drive is a DEFINITE Plus! I have gone through more tires, but IT STICKS TO THE ROAD!! The Integra was Interesting to try & drift, but the WRX is near impossible!! You have to be doing some MaJor S!!T to get the car to break from the road. Which when you want to take a corner @ 60+ it is awesome!

I have owned both...If u drive 40-50 miles a day...go for the Integra. If this is gonna be your only car...buy the Integra. If you just wanna be stuck behind a semi...buy the Integra. If you are just an average automatic tranny driver...yep...get the Integra.
WRX is for Pros. U gotta know about the car before U wanna drive one...If U'r getting a STI....it feels good to hit the gas and see 130mph and still power left to dance. It's just a perfect REAL sports car. Not a wanna be. The bad part is...Premium gas...choppy ride... Tubro maintenance....!
At the end...I have sold the Integra and putting in a 3rd stage turbo in my WRX.

I personally own a WRX but have test driven Integra's. The WRX is probably one of the best cars to have for modifications and fun. There are so many aftermarket components available for this vehicle. Also, you can make many performance upgrades without changing the physical look of the car. This means you look less like a ricer and it also doesn't attract so much attention from patrol cars.

Get the integra, there are way too many WRXs on the road as it is. P.s. 2.5l road tax should be about $1100 for 6 months. Insurance depends on your car model and make as well.

I personally think the WRX is overhyped and look really beng. Especially a blue WRX, scream ah beng in every angle. Worst still there are actually quite a few old uncles driving it as well. Ah Seng!
The Integra is such a beauty, especially a white one. The design and the curves, simply a different class. But you will have to live with only two doors.

I would prefer a WRX because it is a lot of fun to drive. Although Integra type R is good, Integras get stolen a lot and messed up. Integras also look cheap. WRX is also AWD and that can be good or bad.

if your looking in to performance then its the WRX is the way to go. and if your going all out get the STi. it will be the best choice ever. you cant even stay close to a cobra with a modded type r and you can beat a cobra with a stock STi and we are talking about the 03-04 super charged cobra... even if you get the WRX its way better, as far as the trans goes on the WRX it all depens on how you drive it my WRX had 65k miles on it b4 i shattered 2nd gear from too much power, and its an 02... i say WRX all the way.

I think u should go w/ the Integra. i think WRX is too overrated. However, depending on where you live, check to see which car is more high theft. the insurance rates depend on that as well. I live in NYC. I see a lot of WRX's on the road. I have a subaru impreza 2.5. but subarus are not high theft here. i park it on the streets everyday. the subaru also has all wheel but you are still not safe on ice. my subaru still skids on ice.
