Time cannot exist without space.
Time is something man uses to measure change.
For change to take place, there must be somewhere for the change to happen.
We need space (no pun intended) for something to exist and to happen.
Space is where all things exist.
Withour space, there would be nothing, and there would be no change, resulting in no time.

Space and time are two different variable entities relative the the observer's frame of reference. However, spacetime is the absolute frame of reference.

The fact that the speed of light (in a vacuum) is a constant no matter the observer's frame of reference proves this. How? Well, s=d/t or speed equals distance divided by time. If the s when referring to light is always a constant, then the other two factors in the equation are the variables: distance (or space) and time.

A point in space doesnt change with time. But at a given point in time different things happen at different points in space. So at different instants of time different different thigs happen at different points in space.
So anything that happens is a function of x,y,z,t.
So, anything_happening = f(x,y,z,t). So space and time are independent variables! So time can exist without space. But as of now both exist. Hope you got it. :-o)
