It means "Respondez S'il Vous Plait." In English it means REPLY PLEASE

If you have received a wedding invitation that includes RSVP, you are being asked to respond and let your hosts know whether or not you are able to attend the event.

If you are sending a wedding invitation with RSVP, you are asking your guests to "Respond Please" so that you can plan appropriately.

RSVP stands for Repondez s'il vous plait.
Repondez=Respond or Reply
S'il vous plait=if you are please
So if definately means reply if you are please (with the invitation).

It's a fancy-french-polite way to indicated that you are waiting for and answer to the invitation that you just made.

It means "please respond ASAP!" and ASAP stands for....????
