I think you got the theory a little wrong!
The infinite monkey theorem states that a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for an infinite time will almost surely eventually type the collected works of William Shakespeare, if not every single piece of writing that has ever, and will ever be written. Note that almost surely is being used in a precise mathematical sense here.

Ok, this is a proper theory. You have actually missed out a key aspect, infinity, if a thousand monkeys had an infinite amount of time in theory they would (almost certainly) type out every piece of writing that ever has and ever could be written (and a lot of gibberish).
I just wish it could actually be done.
Just noticed your edit:
Yes, if i sat here right now hitting random keys I would type absolutely nothing. But if I carried on typing for infinity ("Infinity is the state of being greater than any finite (real) number however large.") and couldn't die, I would type out most probably every thing that could ever he typed.
You have to understand the concept of infinity to understand this theory.
Also, have a look at this:
http://user.tninet.se/~ecf599g/aardasnails/java/Monkey/webpages/
Using computers randomly generating letters, they have so far managed to achieve 24 letters from "The Second Part of King Henry IV", which would apparently happen after 2,737,850 million billion billion billion monkey-years. (If just one monkey was hitting a key every 1 second)

The saying actually goes...given an infinite number of monkeys and infinite number of typwriters, they will eventually write all the great works. I would add that they would need an infinite amount of time.
Wikipedia says that the monkeys would only write all the great works of Shakespeare. I think that is limiting.
This theorum illustrates the perils of reasoning about infinity by imagining a vast, but finite number.

what the theory is...........is that.......... time goes on FOREVER...........so, if you put a bunch of monkeys in a room......... eventually......... the bible ( or whatever book they say ) .. will be typed ..........randomly..... it is all theory,,, in other words......... it COULD take 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 years ( yes , you would need to replace the monkeys ), but someday, because time never stops, the book WOULD be typed.
