I don't think so.Just look at Sachin's 74 international centuries to Ponting's 51.That's a long way off.Maybe he could break 1or 2 but not all.Never!!What's ur opinion on this?

Sachin is far better than Ponting. Ponting makes many runs because he cheats. If he is out and umpire doesn't give out, then also Ponting plays knowing that he was out. But if Sachin would have been at his place, he would surely not play in that case and he will consider that he is out. A great player should not only play nicely, but also he should play fairly. Regarding this, SACHIN is the best player in whole universe.

Ponting will be able to beat some of sachin's record, but will his sportsmanship, spirit and attitute ever, ever beat Sachin's? ask yourself...
He may be a better player, but will be able to achieve what sachin has? centuries can be reached, just because he has more cricketing years ahead than Tendulkar.
Come look at india
Will he be an idol in his country? Will his performance move people. yaar there is more to cricket than just centuries.

He may break the records. That is not the point here. But the style, grace and the elegance of Tendulkar's batting is missing in Ponting's. Moreover, Tendulkar shouldered the burden of a sagging team and the hopes of a nation, which obviously Ponting does not.
The circumstances under which runs are scored are more important than the records themselves.

he is on the verge of breaking sachins record. the reason why ,i say it because ponting is still younger than sachin and pontings current form is better than sachins
