i've been searching for a particular version of Snow White that my sister and i rented out on video in the 80's. This version that I"m after is a "darker" version of the Classic Disney Snow White tale. As I can recall there was a part where the witch poses as an old lady selling hair combs and she sells one to snow white and it makes her pass out. the dwarfs save her then later there is the apple thing and the prince saves her.

This video was not animated, the cast were live actors and the show was not movie leghth, it was more about 30mins. We have also seen Little Red Riding Hood, Rumplestilskin etc

I have a feeling this is the series, but i don't know and i don't want to buy it ($89.99) and find out its the wrong one. Does any one remember this show who can help me out?

I know what you're talking about, I have it recorded on video tape off of t.v., I don't think it's short though. The version I have is movie length with no breaks or to be continued's...it is dark. So I'm not sure if the version I have was taken from this show you're talking about, but I remember the evil witch selling hair combs and then the apple and a corset too, I think and doesn't the evil witch explode in the end and she's like glass or something? I hope you can find it! I looked at the link you posted, and that picture of Snow White on the cover, is not the Snow White I remember, but I know what movie you're describing and I don't think this one available is the one you're looking for. I could make a copy of my tape and send it to you if you wanted, but it's not the greatest quality. sgrjackson1@yahoo.com

The Faerie Tale Theatre version starred Elizabeth McGovern as Snow White, Vanessa Redgrave as the Evil Queen, and Vincent Price as the Narrator/Mirror. There moore details available at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0394544/ I noticed on your Amazon link that you can go to the "More available new and used" link and get it for under $30. If this is the right version, then it would be a much more affordable option. Even if this isn't the correct version, Faerie Tale Theatre productions were incredible, and with 26 shows in the set, you're bound to love it anyway.
