okay i have tryd every suggestion and non seems to work, seems like my best chance is the safe mode option, but the million dollar ques. is how do i get there? seems like a plan though, if you could just tell me how to get there........thanks guys!

restart your computer, and before windows loads up, quickly press F8. it will give you the safe mode options :)

On win32 stuff (Micro$oft), watch the bottom of the screen during boot-up - it will tell you which key to hit to prevent the normal boot process. Then just follow the instructions until you get to a "safe-mode" choice.
And, when you can, switch to Linux.

start the computer and keep pressing F8 you'll get a menu choose safe mode without networking then sit and wait for it to load can take awhile sometimes

Press the F8 key while booting in the first windows related screen you see.If that doesnt work, restart, press F8 repeatedly while booting windows and squealing eratically.
That ALWAYS works for me. :)
F8 works for Windows 2000. I dunnow about XP;if all else fails try ofher F* keys while booting

its F5 on my computer (Packard Bell Windows XP)
