Yes English players are definitely behind in more than just footballing technique. First of all,there is a shortage of talent coming through the ranks but its not just in England but in Ireland aswell.Kids are not going out into the streets to play football like they used to due to playstations,xboxs,computers and the fact that there is a bigger emphasis on education more than ever before doesn't help. There is nothing a manager can do if the players at his disposal are not good enough e.g. liverpool so they have to look abroad at foreign players who WILL make the team better.The way the game is thought needs to be changed aswell. Barcelona are a prime example of how you should play soccer.

It's still a goal. No matter how long the shot is, if it goes in, it's a goal. Hope that helps.
