A co-worker failed to show up on time to an extrememly important meeting causing us to lose out on a lucrative business deal. The excuse: had a minor accident while enroute. But some things just dont add up, how can I find out if hes telling the truth?

I don't think you have the right, privacy act and all.

But If it was serious enough, the police would have to be told. Try having a look at the car to see if there's any damage, or obvious replacement of parts.

It is public record so you can start with the police department and have her to bring in the accident report

If it was enough where he had to notify police, it would be in the police log for that day. Police logs are available to the public.
