usa talks about human rights, enviornment,WMD ,,,,,,etc ,& all that crap they say and never do .
and in the same time they go and use their nuclear garbage(depleted uranium) in Iraq& balkan ,causing high pollution, death and defections which effect could last for thousands of years .
Why doing this ,when u have regular wepons that could be used instead?
what is the excuse for that?
Why harming innocent ppl and newly born babys, this way?
why r u so cruel?
and plz, dont start to compare btw that and what others have done(like saying that sadam used gas on kurds)?its all bad,and if others r doing wrong things, that doesnt give u the excuse to do it,or u will be all the same

Why did they use depleted uranium (DU) I have no idea except that maybe they are conducting genocide.

I am amazed and totally distressed at the cruelty and disrespect for human life, and total lack of knowledge that I have seen all throughout Yahoo answers. It is OK not to know, but don't shun, make fun or use abusive language when someone else has another point of view, check it out, think about it and analyze it, then make up your mind. Right Democratic freedom lovers and practices??

For those of you who have stated that DU has no effects, if you care to correct your knowledge, you may check the sites below. If you want to remain ignorant of facts, it's up to you.

But one thing for certain DU has not and will not only affect the "Bad" Arabs / Muslims, it as also affecting your soldiers and their generations to come.

If you truly care for them as most of you claim, please check the sites and know more to be able to do more and do what's right and that means to act instead of just spreading obnoxious and incorrect information.

I do apologize if I have offended anyone by my words, but people, this is serious and it will / is affecting everyone whether we like it or not.

If depleted Uranium was really that hazardous then don't you think that the hundreds of thousands of US military personnel that use it in training and spend significant time around expended cartridges would show signs? How about the live fire ranges here in the united states that they use... shouldn't they be inhospitable? And to answer your question on why we use it...It isn't for it's "Radioactive" qualities. It's for the sheer weight and density of it. A projected piece of depleted uranium has more destructive force on impact than an explosive twice it's size.

well said, the enemies America have are enemies america created with the help of Israel. now america is being controlled by oil companies and big business those are the ones that need to be targeted not the innocent, I do realize that in this terrible war created by the arms manufacturers and companies like haliburton and Soudi and Egyptian corporations all friends of Bush DICK Cheyney and many members of the republican and some democrats. these should be the targets if we keep hurting the innocent civilianswe are only playing thier game, keeping us afraid while they capitalize on our desires for peace, and by using our religions and our children against us......

Depleted uranium is just that depleted. It is a heavier element than lead and has better penetration. It does not put out enough radiation to cause harm.
What you are stating is false propaganda.

There's no proof that DU is dangerous. In fact, the average airliner has about a kilogram onboard for counterweights.

I don't care what they use. If I was a soldier and was fighting against someone trying to kill me, I would use whatever I have in my disposal, throwing rocks to droping nuclear bombs. My concern would be to survive not to decide what to use.
