If by "heavy metal", you mean "traditional metal" (excluding power, thrash, black, death, ect. metal) then my favorite band is Manilla Road. If you mean just metal in general, it's really hard to pick a favorite metal band because there are so many that I like that have very differing styles. Korn, Linkin Park, etc from the more "Nu-metal" category...
Fear Factory, Rammstein, Marilyn Manson, Hammerfall, Clawfinger, Soulfly, Sepultura & Nailbomb are a few of my other favourites.

oh geez I could go on forever! Disturbed, Metallica, Korn, System of a Down, Type O Negative, Sepultura, Samoel, the list goes on for ages! I love metal. It gets me goin'!
