Well if you look at it from that point of view, yes. We live in such a large universe, you know they are something out there besides us along. I done some research for you, and here is what I have found:

Do aliens exist? A question we all would like to know an answer to. With all of the scientific studies that have been done on the subject, the sign that extra terrestrial life does exist is very true. But the fact that they do actually visit this small planet is the most improbable idea that has ever been thought of.

Although there is as yet no unequivocal prove that non-terrestrial life forms exist, there are some facts to consider: -
1. In an infinite universe all things should be possible.
2. Bacteria were transported to the moon in one of the NASA cameras. When the camera was retrieved some years later the bacteria had survived and re-animated when heat and moisture was introduced.
3. The Drake equation (the probability that aliens will contact us) assumes that given the right physical conditions of heat and moisture, the evolution of sentient life is virtually certain.

I think you question might be more apt if it was “ do we think we will ever contact alien life?”

Aliens almost certainly don't exist.

We can be alone in a huge NEARLY EMPTY universe. The odds of life are slim. Even if there is life, there is no NECESSITY for intelligent life, and the clock is always running for destruction of that particular solar system.

But the big factor is the lack of a need for an enlarged prefrontal cortex. There may be algae and microbes on other worlds, but we're probably alone as the species with intelligent life.

Certainly. In such a vast universe possibilities are enormous though 'proof' is quite a subjective matter. Until few years ago scientists were sure that our solar system is unique in the entire universe.

I believe that this question, more or less, has been asked in the Biology section. Anyhoo, in answer to your question, I think that there must be aliens, or extraterrestrials, out there, otherwise Space would be -well- a waste of space. I believe that they may have had a hand in early human history (á la Stargate), and they are probably just waiting for us to reach a sufficient technological (á la Star Trek) and cultural level so that when/if they return, they can be sure that we won't worship them as gods.

Acquaint yourself with the work of Zechariah Sitchin, an Archaeologist who entertains the theory of aliens being mentioned in the Old Testament (e.g. Nephilim), as well as who Adam and Eve really were (experimental slave labour created by Anunaki scientists). The Anunaki, according to him, came from a twelfth planet in our solar system with an outlandish orbit that made Uranus turn on its side. They arrived on Earth when their planet had an atmospherical disaster and they required gold to create a shield in their atmosphere. Their own people didn't want to work so Ninhursag (their Chief Medical Officer) created humans... she and many other females carried the first humans to term. These humans were then used as slave labour, but annoyed the Anunaki so much with their bellistic and promiscuous nature. Apparently these slaves mated with another Anunaki slave race mostly used for household duties. Sexist as that may sound, it does seem plausible in parts (not the household slave thing, but the creating humans thing).

yea. But dont expect them to look like big-brained green puny Martians running around in spandex shooting their death rays. We do not know beyond what we can actually reach or see, but there is the possibility of life in other planets, as much as other solar systems. So far the only signs of life in other planets is bacteria and similar microscopic beings. Not something that can be compared intelectually and biologically to the sophistication of homo sapiens and other "Earthlings", but still aliens. However, H.R Giger Alien types with acidic blood, spinal tail and long phallus-like skulls have not yet been discovered, contacted or made peace talks with us. Maybe in the near future. Maybe.

Of course, nobody is certain. But I would find it hard to believe that some sort of life does not exist anywhere else, in the vast space that is the universe, beside the tiny planet earth.

Life on other planets is equally probable as the chance of life on earth.

but the question arises in the realm of their intelligence . which is quite complex.

if Bacteria or virus or any other primitive organisms are considered as Aliens for you. sure they are.

This is what i saw....a disc...it was either one of ours or alien....why would an American craft shaped like a disc fly 300 feet above a residential area at night with no lights or insignia? the nearest air base from me at the time was 200 miles north of me...i theorize it was one of extraterrestrial origin...
