i live in a predominantly muslim country, ...several of my friends were previously christian, then converted to islam to marry their man... my observations are:
Advantage 1: you'll never have to worry if or not he is cheating cuz he is allowed to have up to 4 wives! oh, n they dont have to be legally married, title of mistress is good enough (but he has to financially support them)
Advantage 2: if ur intrested in converting to islam, here's your chance! moslems aren't allowed to marry anyone of a different faith.
Advantage 3: he's definately circumcised and your sons will be as well - this slippery operation is done at age 12.
Advantage 4: he will have 100% control over you. spousal abuse is not frowned on in the moslem religion
Advantage 5: in order to marry him, u need to convert first. this is a tedious process if done "correctly." oh, u'll have to learn arabic as well.
Advantage 7: if ur more of a "service" type personallity, this religion will suit you very well because the wife's role is to literally serve her husband (its not reciprocal) if he wants hot coffee, u'd better make it quick girl!
Advantage 6: when ur married, you'll be moslem, and guess what?!! its a sin (a really bad sin) to refuse ur husband sexually

Disdavantages: none or all of the above...depending on ur point of view

oh, a word of caution, the moslem men act very "normal" while ur dating. after u marry, well....

My aunt married a muslim and moved to Turkey. Now my uncle is the sweetest guy on the planet and not of the variety that would beat his wife or crack the whip or take a mistress. But, there are a few things to think about. You have to convert prior to marriage. My aunt did. Her two sons, my cousins, were raised as muslims. There's no alcohol served in the house and no pork.

My family is of the liberal, more western variety and not all guys are "cool" like my uncle. If your boyfriend/fiance is from a more conservative background, you could be in for quite a culture shock. One thing to keep in mind is (like a poster above said) is that islamic law provides that prior to marriage, he must treat you with the utmost respect and he must behave impeccably outside his own country. Once in his native country and married, things may change. Aside the religion, I'd recommend that you do some research regarding the civil laws in his country, customs, conventions, etc.

To start with , her children will be Muslims, the aunts and uncles are Muslims. and it is a completely different way of life, if the woman is OK with that , then I do not see any reason not to marry a Muslim

if you matters to you, dont marry him! marriages come with advantages and disadvantages. but tell you what, you can share the disadvantages with the other 3 wives.
