I went to JcPenny in the mall and the escalators going up and down ended on the womens side of the store. Is there a subliminal message here?

Women do more shopping than men do, that's for sure.

No it's just as society has become more "liberal" females tend to not do any work and that includes walking up stairs.

Another great example for this is when I was an ungrad at Florida State University I had a lot of classes in the Bellamy building and constantly the elevator would be full of females going up just one flight.

Nope not subliminal just pure lazy.

I think you have already figured it out yourself.

Obviously, because majority of the people shopping at JC Penny or other Department stores are women .. shopping for clothes. Store always try to appeal best to there main target audience. In this case JC Penny targets to women. Although they do sell men's items it's not called BA BOBS is it? Most men don't want to shop at a store called JC Penny do they now? Men want to shop at stores that have "Big Tuff Manly" names (most do lol)

You've answered your own question! Ever notice that the other end is usually in or next to the "guy stuff" departments? Or that there are NEVER any clocks in the public areas of casinos?

That's the architects' artful attempt to gently 'lead the horses to where the water is' - for they KNOW that most of the mares will inevitably choose to drink !

It is smart merchandising. They know women find it harder to resist the temptation of the impulse buy.
