There is some stuff by Sally Hanson (I believe) that says " For the bitten nail"...When you bite your nails after using it, it leaves a horrible taste in your mouth! I promise...It won't take too many times before you stop. LOL

When I go to bite my fake nails its like biting down on a big piece of plastic, so I immediately stop, and it breaks the habit. I am surprised that fake nails did not work for you, since they are so much harder to bite than real nails. I guess you could try biting ice. Well this isnt much information, but i hope it helped!

It's just one of those habits that can often be difficult to break. Luckily, there are solutions. Well, one of my friends had the same problems, she said that she put this weird stuff on her nails that tasted awful. Kinda what you give a child to get them to stop sucking their thumb, it breaks their bad habit. Meanwhile, try not to think of it, and maybe put on nailpolish; that helps me in some way.

Do you know that biting nails is a sign that you are stress…for me you have to stop it right away…why don’t you cut them?? Or maybe you could make a promise to your self that’s possible it will control you from biting them!!!

I've got that habit as well. The things is I don't bite my nails when they are polished because I don't wanna ruin them.

gloves, mittens. try putting tape around your fingertips. something that tastes bad would work, but then you might have trouble with not getting it in foods and stuff.

i can show you a picture of my mom's nails... if you bite your nails for a long time eventually your nails start growing all crooked and nasty looking. imagining that could get you to stop :P

hi eliz(a)beth,

well the best thing to do with your vices is.
do it at fixed intervals.

that means, if you have habit of biting nails.
do it at fixed intervals, say every alternate day in the morning after brushing.

well once you get a habit of biting it, at fixed intervals, try to reduce the frequency. lets say once in 4 days, then once in a week.......

Cheers,

Get a really fancy expensive manicure. You won't dream of biting them.
