Well I don't think you can legally change any of the data on a birth certificate.After all it's a sworn statement.You can call yourselves any name you wish legally by deed poll

Not a good idea. You may have a good reason for wanting to remove your ex's name from the Birth Certificate, but your baby will grow up and discover the truth, and it may hurt your relationship with the child.
Remember, DNA testing will be readily available. Many times Kids just know that the named father is not the father. It well just screw up the kid and you also.

Actually, it would be quite a feat to accomplish that, especially if the father contests it.

But the name of the baby on the certificate will be the name of the baby until or unless it is legally changed, which can be done through a court.

as the legal guardian you are entitled to apply for a name change for the baby.
