There are two restaurants that are right next to each other. One is called Boa where you can get lobster, the best New York strip EVER, and great sides. It is amazing, however very expensive. There is Sushi Roku across the street and it is also expensive but very very good sushi and desserts. These are both on Ocean Avenue. If you like Italian, there is Valentino. The biggest wine cellar in North America, not to mention the best tasting menu in THE WORLD! This is on Pico. Cuz remember. 3 is more than... I mean better than one!

I would agree I cugini on Ocean Ave is really good and there is a place called The Penthouse. It used to be Toppers Restaurant and Bar on top of the Raddison Huntley Hotel on 2nd St and Wilshire Blvd. Now they remodeled the place and it's spectacular. The view alone is worth it. You can go to the website and look a 360 view of the place.

In Santa Monica: for sushi, try Nomu on Wilshire.
For steak, try Pacific Dining Car (also on Wilshire).
For fast food, try Tommys at Lincoln & Pico.
For excellent California & Italian cuisine, try Il Cugini on Ocean.
For something different, try PF Changs on Wilshire.
For Mexican, try Lare's on Pico.
How's all that?

Without a doubt, the answer to this question is George's Bistro on the Third Street Promenade. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating and the food is excellent. In fact, they just opened a second location in Valencia, CA.

I LOVE Fish Co (Enterprise Fish Company) for great seafood apps and drinks for happy hour and beyond.
Broadway Deli (Broardway and 3rd) for everything from their deli/bakery case to their delicious breakfasts and lunches.
No-nonsense food (burgers and fries and such), Barney's on the 3rd Street Promenade is a great sports bar without all the hype. Great food and sexy waitresses!
Just my taste bud's opinion...
