Hi, im doing an stse for science class, im just trying to get some ideas flowing.

STSE stands for SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY SOCIETY and ENVIRONMENT and i have to link a theme together with examples.

The question is.

"I want to be a scientist, but i hate chemistry" said your foolish friend. Explain to him/her why it is so important to hav e clear understanding of chemistry in order to consider any career in science.

chemistry is the link to all other sciences! it started it all, of course the details of it are mind numbingly complex and boring at times, but when you think about what it really is its simply amaizing... little things, that move in relation to each other based on certian "forces" they have no internal structure like we know it, they are pure energy and capible of aranging themselfs into all the complexity that we see in the world... cemistry is magic! The study of cemisty has evoked intrest in physics, biology, mathmatics, phycology, its all linked together. You need to have a solid base of understanding to forge ahead... Also chemestry can be very interesting if we find ourselfs face to face with the truth of what it all is and not become numb with the textbook description... these atoms, molicules... what are they? these are the questions you will not answer but will get a ligering feeling that you may know what they are... if you become aquainted with them enough. strange stuff... and very fun to investigate.

Chemistry is involved in many different areas of science!
It is the interaction of atoms and molecules to form other things. While chemistry is not the root of science (Physics is) it is involved in most branches of science. Physics allows you to see what is happening inside the atom and the forces that control the atom, but chemistry is used to help predict the outcome of reactions. Chemistry is very big but it boils down to; organic and inorganic. Organic is the primary chemistry of medicine and several other fields. Inorganic does a little bit of everything from metal alloys to electricity from batteries. A good concept of chemistry is needed for any field of science that deals with the atom or larger (chemistry doesn't help much with quantum physics). But even then it helps to understand action and reaction, energy and charges in our universe.
