HI, we were wondering how you and what do you use to clean the scanner glass, both topside and underside? Should it be a wet or a dry cleaning?

Also, where/what are the scanner mirrors located and how do you clean those?

We have an HP D145 OfficeJet that keeps reading a scanner error.

Any Help would be appreciated. THANKS!

Use lint free cloths and any Xylene based cleaner (I do not the brands available in your country). You may also use the cleaner liquid available to clean contact lenses. Make sure the glass is completely dried up after cleaning. The mirror mostly located below the lamp. If you see dust on it you may clean it with same cloth and solution. This mirror is front coated one and very much prone to scratches.

For scanner error it might be some other problem, like driver, twain driver, connecting cable related.

Odds are the problem is not because of dirty glass. I wouldnt suggest taking it apart.
