I love him and we have been living together for the last two years. He's almost 29 and has a lot of good qualities. He tells me he loves me several times a day, but he sleeps on the couch 4-6 nights out the week. Is this a sign that he doesn't want me or that he's a cheater?

if he is sleeping on the couch 4 to 6 nights a week then he is ashamed of something either you or something he has done weather or not you stay with him is up to you but dont have a kid with a guy who wont marry you he mite just screw you in the end

We don't know if he's a cheater or not but there's definitely something fishy going on...4-6 nights on the couch?! And he wants a baby?! Without getting married?! See where this is going? I think you should sit him down and talk to him seriously, ask him about the baby without the marriage, is he willing to take responsibility for the rest of his life? Are you ready to take that responsibility for the rest of your life? If not, and without marriage, it's easier for him to bail and 'disappear' convenviently if he feels so inclined. So, confront him, and see where that leads you. You also have to re-evaluate your feelings for him. Are you sure that he's the one? He wants a baby but yet sleeps on the couch that often? I hope he doesn't think they pop out of the sky. And although he says he loves you, you have to ask yourself do you think he really means it or is he just saying that to keep you and a place to stay at night. If he's not ready to get married than that's his choice but you cant wait forever for a person who you think could be cheating on you anyways. My advice is, Pray About It.

Sorry to tell you this, but it sounds as thou he is cheating, I can understand if he was like my guy, I've also have been with mine for three years, he's not ready to get married either, he also wants a baby, but he sleeps with me every night, always wants to cuddle under me while he's sleeping, but wants to be financially set. So give him an ultimatum and see what happens.
