i like Drake.........honestly, they sound kind of ......what's the word i'm looking for.....don't get me wrong, I think it's great you want to pass on family names ....but will they be going to private, boys only schools?....geez, this is not coming out right...nevermind don't pay any attention to what i say...they are very nice names, classy, "upperclass". I do not mean to offend you in anyway, but that's what i think of, little boys dressed in tie and jackets, with perfectly combed hair, and no scabby knees.

I can fully appreciate the traditional practice of naming children after ancestors. But, think about your child when he will be in the third grade...will he like those names? Or will they make him a target for bullies? While the names you listed are noble, together they sound almost cartoonish. Consider a simple name with an ancestoral middle or third name. Like David Drake or Evan Ellsworth. Even Foster James or William Foster.

While I can appreciate you wanting to pay tribute to a family member or name sake. They are pretty drastic on the name scale!

And frankly a lot to live up to for a child.

Try some alternative to this inclusion. Drake sounds fine I quess. But the "Ellsworth" denotes some nobility that a child may find difficult to live with. And other kids could make jokes of.

Since it is a boy here you need to concider his manhood and masculine struggle in life.

Can I suggest................using the names you have provided?

Drake La'worth ( La'Worth)

Worth Layfette ( pronounced Lafet, not Lafayette, it is too feminine)

Drake Foster

Don't use any name a child can twist into a joke to make fun of your child.

And make sure it all flows with whatever last name you have.

You should keep your options more open.

I recently had a daughter. My Mother pased away 3 months before I got pregant. So still feeling the grief of her absence I wanted to name my daughter after my Mom?

Mom's name was Hazel. Well that may have been a very nice name 60 years ago!

But after a few months of twisting around every name in my family tree?

One night, at 9 months pregnant I had my list before me with all my sisters and brothers names, aunts, uncles and all? i wrote my Mom's name bakward?

Hazel? spelled backward is Lezah.

Thus Lezah (pronounced Leeza) became the name of my beautiful daughter.

Actually..........Lezah Raye-Ann

Lezah for MY Mom, Raye for my husbands Mom, and my brothers name is Ray, and Ann for ME. and it is also the middle name for my husbands grandmother.

thus denoting my Mom and brother, his Mom and grandmother, and ME.

Drake Ellsworth, Foster Lafayette. WTF do you want the boy to be gay or something.

How about Jason Lee or if you must have Foster make it the middle name. Like Justin Foster or Mark Foster.

Absolutly not on Lafayette or Drake Ellsworth.

Check out the names on the website. Drake isn't too bad. Both Drake and Foster are English names. Try something different.
Like Johnny Cash said, name him Bill, George anything but Sue.

Drake reminds me of a soap opera star and Foster of a foster child...

How about giving the child a standard first name and one of those as a middle name?

I like tradition too, but the child will be stuck with the name his whole life...

Both are fine names, but using last names as first names ... i know it's the latest fad, but i would think twice. If you don't HAVE to have a family name OR a common last name, Remington is kinda classy. And make sure the initials are something the boy can live with.

If you like tradition go with traditions of your grandparents last name. It does not matter how it will look on a school rooster. If you raise you child to respect himself, then it will not matter what others say, besides kids will be kids. If they cant pick on someone about a name they will find something else, just the way yougins are!!!!
