I disconnected my monitor from my HP Pavillion PC and connected it to a laptop as an external monitor. When I reconnected the moitor to my PC, I can't get a signal to monitor.
I have checked the monitor and cable on another computer and they work fine. It is if my computer does not recognize the monitor.

Ok I had to do this to a dell I kind of remember what this button was so try to figure it out. Press your function button, which is probubly a button that says something like Fn or something and then there should be a button that says something about LCD. Click both of those together. And see if it works email me at sillystring1010@yahoo.com if it works and if you cant find this button.

Check the pins inside the cable connector. Maybe you broke or bent a pin? Of course your computer is turned on, so I can;t think of any other reason assuming you didn;t change anyhting on the pc itself.

Right click on your desktop and click on "properties", then "settings" . On that page you can move the arrow to higher or lower number. Put it on the number it asks for. Hope that helps. p.s. Don't apply unless you want it to stay that way. It's easy to change just when you run the program. If you don't apply it will boot up to the original setting (write it down in case you do apply)

Will any other moniter work with that computer? If so then there might be a problem with the moniter cable. If not then your computer might have a bad graphics card.
