Training aninals usually involves rewards and punishments. Rewards can come in the form of treats, words of encouragement, phyiscal contact like patting. Punishment, while not necessary physical, can involves loud reprimand to drive in the message. Animals in general learn by repetition. Atfer a while, they will be able o figure out by doing what will they get rewarded and what they will be punished.

because they are smarter than us in some ways. they understand a lot more than you think. we can be trained too. what do you thing happened that makes you use the toilet instead of crapping your pants?
