This whole Liberal vs Conservative debate does nobody any good. All that happens is more polarization.
The differences come from basic assumptions about life, government and the country's role in the world. But no one discusses the assumptions, only the differences.
Basic assumptions such as help someone going through hard times vs. self reliance. These ultimately lead to arguments regarding welfare, medicare, social security, etc.
Personal liberties and state's rights vs. government involvement in regulating business, security, etc. Which is causing much of the bashing on both sides at present.
Labeling other's as Liberal, Conservative, weak minded, etc. does not help anyone. It just leads to more bashing. And laying the responsibility at the feet of one side ignores the fact that the blame goes both ways. Rush Limbaugh is just as much of a Liberal basher (he says liberal in a way that suggests the very word dirties his mouth) as Ted Kennedy is a Conservative basher.
Honest debate over issues without resorting to labels, name calling, mud slinging and all other tactics to confuse the issues is what this country needs. The national debate we need to be having is what does this country truly stand for, what is the role of government at all levels and what is the role of this country in the world. Assumptions have to be made clear and understood. Etc. etc.

It's simple. most liberals are uneducated in the fact they like to follow and not lead. They follow the crowd.
Have you ever listened to one talk? They can't answer a direct question - God forbid you ask for a yes or no answer.
I can see this situation. "honey did you take out the trash?" and the liberal answer, "WELL this afternoon when i got home from work..."
Sometimes it gets me to the point where i want to smack them for being annoying. Use your head! think for yourself. Would you feel the same if all your friends didnt like the liberal way? Or are you content on getting a few handouts by trading your freedom a little at a time.
Discussing with a liberal is like arguing with a 2 year old, its not logical and goes nowhere.
I could respect if they had an opinion they came up with on their own but it seems like its all feelings with them.

Well, let's ask a question in return. Why are conservatives so strong-minded in opinion, and so limp-wristed in action? Is there anything more laughable than some bombastic, self-important radio talk show host babbling about patriotism and bravery when he has never performed a single act for this country other than his own self-promotion? Poor Fox News? You have got to be kidding. This is sympathy for the viper.

From what I have seen/read/heard the Neo-Cons (neo-conservatives) are the ones who have so little intelligence. They seem to want simple, quick answers to every question. That is why so many of the conservatives begin and end conversations with, "The Bible says .... " Somehow that is supposed to be intelligent. Funny Fox News ... ROFL ... you actually have no idea what Yellow Journalism is, do you?
Please, since I have some authorized citations, how would that be weak minded. Moreover, if I think your statements are ridiculous at best, how it that weak minded. Of course that presupposes you can think for yourself, and that is in serious question right now.

Because they are trying to build their base support group. Conservatives are untied and voting so the Liberals are trying everything they can to build support for the Democratic party.
They are not weak minded they are just doing what they think is best for this country.

Well, i guess your opinion will have to stand, because you give no specific examples to support your argument that either myself, or anyone else for that matter, could debate.
By the way I watch fox news all the time (hannity and colmes, o'reilly factor, neil cavuto). I like hearing both sides of the issues.

When your beliefs make no sense and go against everything this country was founded on, you can only convince the weak minded that your ideas are valid.
