The reason many cz's look fake is because they aren't cut the same way as a diamond. This especially true in fancy cuts (square, rectangle, marquee, oval ect..). Another reason is because of their low cost, many people pick a cz ring that is far bigger than a diamond most could afford (how many women really have a 4ct diamond? If you get a 4ct equivalent cz, people will probably assume it's fake on size alone). Don't buy an overly huge stone, it will look fake. Go with a more believable size, like a .50 or 1ct equivalent. Your best bet is to visit a locally owned jewelry store. No one will judge you because you don't want or cannot afford a real diamond, a $100 sale is still a sale. A sales person at a jewelry store can sit down and discuss face to face with you what your looking for, and can help get you a high quality cz cut just like it's diamond equivalent. They can also help you pick out a nice setting, whether it be in silver or gold (depending on your budget). Buying online is always a risk, it's better to go talk with a professional and get it right the first time.

Don't know the back story on why you want fake. Another alternative is go to a reputable jeweler and purchase a non-perfect diamond. They will usually have a program where they buy them back at a later date and you can keep upgrading as you can afford until you have a great stone.

eBay has a ton on the site, and they have lab diamonds too, they look pretty real. But I would just rather go with a real one. you can find a good deal online.

cheapo... get a job.. you can get the real deal at a pawn shop for a couple a hundred dollars. Even at walmart. Why would you do that to her?
