Probably people need to do more research. At the same time, each of those groups DO have goth/satanic leanings in their music/lyrics. I'm sure there's more to them than that, but people often look at the surface rather than digging in.
Personally I don't really like any of those bands, from what I've heard lyrically it's too obscure/negative. But, on the same token we all come from different backgrounds, have different perspectives, and so yeah you probably won't convince everyone that they're the best, except for yourself and your friends of course ;) :)

I don't think System and Korn can be justifiably compared with NiN. Trent Reznor's music is much more electronic-based, industrial-sounding and progressive than the other two. But for the sake of the question, my answer, assuming you're asking our personal preferences, is System Of A Down. I appreciate the messages behind System's music and their passion for the things they believe in. I also like how crazy and spazzy their songs are. Korn - Justin, Here To Stay, Did My Time, Blind, Bottled Up Inside, Falling Away From Me System - Chop Suey, Vicinity Of Obscenity, I-E-A-I-A-I-O, Streamline, Deer Dance, Aerials, This Cocaine Makes Me Feel Like I'm On This Song NiN - Head Like A Hole, March Of The Pigs, Hurt, The Hand That Feeds

I totally agree with you. Slipknot, NIN, and Korn are definitely NOT satanic bands. They are also favs of mine and my boyfriends so i definitely know the music. Preps and people who aren't famliliar should listen before opening their mouth because how can Omega be satanic? Or how about Vermilion Part 2?

Well think about what you just said, you just classified them as preps and use another social committee, that being goths. The politics and social scene of high school will never change because people base their opinions and views off of assumptions and the misunderstoo.d Most importantly, screw 'em, who cares how you dress or what you listen to but you.

I don't know about 'satanic,' but the bands you listed are definitely not 'goth'. Go to goth.net for a real explanation of what goth is.

while it is true that those bands are the best i have ever heard, i also know that people who are into lighter music think that the bands are just too dark or satanic. its the same as thinking about the seventie's rock ballads as just oldies tunes, which they arent. most every band is in a genre of their own, but these lables for groups are all misleading.

You are complaining about stereotyping yet you drop a stereotype about preps. It is the way society is set up. If you wear those shirts sit in the corner and glare and kids who are "preps" you are going to be labeled for sure.

I love NIN and sometimes listen to korn with my dad..but slipknot? I can tell you that NIN isn't satantic but idk about korn because I don't know enough about them but slipknot is a definit yes..most of their fans even know that. I think even a couple of times they even admited it but idk. If you really love them then it shouldn't matter I guess.

I thought they were just crappy bands. They all strike me as whinny babies trying to illicit the attention of a sleeping audience.
Too bad too, because "back in the day" they were all actually pretty good. Now those vinyl whores are all "warshed" up.

being the best in your genre does not exclude you from being satanic
