you are too young to be thinking about that. who cares if you have black hair, we all do! some women shave it because they don't like it or because they want to please a man. shaving "down there" can cause irritation and ingrown hairs, and will also sometimes get really itchy when the hair starts growing back in, and you don't want to have to deal with all those hassles right now! just wait until your older and you are SURE thats what you want to do, and aren't just doing it out of curiosity or to be like your peers or to please a guy. theres nothing wrong with shaving, but theres nothing wrong with having hair either. just wait it out, you're young!

A lot of women don't shave down there. I shave the edges only and also trim the other hair with an electric shaver that has a guard on it. My advice is to try shaving just the edges and see how it looks/feels. You can always do more if you want, or you can wait a while if you do that and feel that is enough for now.

I would say the time to start is when you can't wear a bathing suit without it showing and find it embarrassing. If that is now and your mom (or other guardian) allows you to, just be careful.

And try not to go overboard! A little bit of bikini line clean up at your age, or any age, in the summer is probably all you need. Given the general coarseness, I found out the hard way that this can be pretty uncomfortable if you go overboard, and when it started growing back, the stubble...omg..nothing but COTTON undies...anything else felt like human Velcro! (Ow) Just some advice. ; )

I think it's a little too early for you since you're only 12. I would suggest that you don't start shaving there until you start getting into the sex thing, but that shouldn't start until you're 17 or 18. Where I'm from you can have sex at 16 legally, although I don't reccomend that either.

If you do start shaving, it will get itchy, put deodorant on the area you shaved, it sounds weird, but works wonders.

that hair is there for a reason, it's keeps out infection causing bacteria. the only area that i would recommend shaving is the bikini line if it shows when wearing a bathing suit in the summer. at 12 it's not usually necessary, but everyone is different.

well first of all have you talked to your mother? If not the only thing i could tell you is that i have a 12 year old and she does that already . Because of swimsuits and stuff , it looks really bad if a girl has hair hanging out of her swimsuit. so i would advise you to do it now just a bikini line though not the entirety of your hair.

at your age, don't worry about it. it will itch big time when it grows back in two -three days. I would just shave the bikini line for bathing suits and undies. Once you decide you are ready to get rid of it all, waxing is the way to go. It will last about 3 weeks.

You don't have to shave down there! There is hair there for a purpose. I suggest not to shave there, at least not yet, if you were planning to.

The answer to the question varies on your circumstances... if this is something you could currently do without problems with parents, (they seem to find out everything at that age) then I do not see a problem with it.

As long as it is done carefully, I know of no negative side-effects regarding age..
