I`m not sure during his career at Manchester United he played 466 games and scored 178 goals where he only played 37 games with N Ireland and scored 9 or 10 goals so maybe if he had been born in England he would have got to play more games as N. Ireland do not participate as often. And no I am not a bigot just someone answering a question with my opinion

George Best did not miss out as he loved representing his own country. He was the only man who finally united the two sides of N.Ireland under one belief and worship and that was him and i should know i live in west belfast (catholic) and we still praise him. Its time to unite the country.

every other country lost out as George loved playing for his country. he was unfortunate that he was born ten years too early to be part of Northern Irelands best team which qualified for the world cup in Spain. it was also the world cups loss that arguably the most gifted player ever never graced its finals. But you cannot take away the fact....The boy was GREAT
