You need to discuss this with your doctor. Dieting is not recommended during pregnancy. You’ll have plenty of time to shed the extra pounds after the baby is born. I would suggest reading The Schwarzbein Principle and The Schwarzbein Principle Cookbook. You can eat delicious nutritious meals and lose weight and it may be something your doctor will approve of during your pregnancy to keep from gaining excessive weight. Yoga, with your doctor’s approval can be helpful too. You want to give your baby the best start you can and maintain your health as well. It will all be worth it when you hold your new bundle of joy for the first time! You may find the following website helpful:

Quick tips to lose weight can be incredibly powerful, as they do not take much effort, but they do get results. We make weight loss much harder than it actually is. I am going to give you three quick tips that you can easily incorporate into your daily life that can help you start to lose weight without any real effort. Tip 1 - Drink Water This seems too easy, but there are lots of studies that back this up. If you drink 2 cups of water before you eat a meal, you will lose weight. Some scientists say that it is because your body thinks that you are already full so you eat less. Other scientists think that the water somehow helps your body to digest the food more efficiently. Regardless, it works, and it is easy! Tip 2 - Brush Your Teeth After a Meal The simple act of brushing your teeth after a meal will make a marker that meal time is over. It is funny how the mind works, but simple markers like this can be very powerful. And besides, who wants to eat anything with that terrible toothpaste aftertaste? Tip 3 - Snack Away Snacking between meals is good - if you snack on the right things. Much of our diet damage is done by overeating at meals, so if you are not as hungry going in, you make better choices. Now, if you choose a candy bar or ice cream as a snack, that doesn't help. However, if you pick a fruit or a vegetable, the fiber helps you to feel full and no damage is done to your diet. good luck ,my friend

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Eat allot of veggies and when you get a sweet tooth go for Fruits instead of other stuff.Eat allot of fibre too .Stay away from bread potatoes as well as rice though not mentionning spagetti. Also eat in small portions but oftenly rather than one big meal. Never eat if you are going to take a nap afterwards. This way the weight will just add on.Eat and then try doing some everyday activity if you can exercise of course.

No - she should not loose weight while pregnant. She may eat healthy and maintain weight (as in not gaining), but NOT diet and loose weight! I would actually recommend at least some weight gain, although I would focus more on the quality of her nutrition and not on pounds. When fat is burned, the by-product is the production of ketones. Ketones present in the mother's body are not good for the baby.

Just a guess, but I think that's probably unhealthy for the baby. A weight loss diet is not going to provide enough nutrients for the baby, but I guessthey could always ask their OB.

what they do is have the patient follow a diet that is high in nutrients but with less calories than they usually consume. staying the same weight while you are pregnant is the same as losing weight because the babys weight is gaining while you are losing.
