I live in a big city and would move to the country in a heartbeat as well. Here in LA, the crowds and the smog are out of control. It took me 40 minutes to go 10 miles on the freeway this morning and I'm not exaggerating. I've had it. Time to cash out and move!

I've lived in the city almost all my life. I'm 14 and I have moved over 16 times, almost always in the city. The few times that it was in the country I ended up not liking it that much. I'm almost afraid of open spaces. I'm the opposite of claustrophobic lol
But that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the country. As a matter of fact I actually like it in the country sometimes, but I don't think I could live there.

COUNTRY definitely. I am a country boy and I wouldn't trade it for the world. If you live in the city you can't have horses and drive 4 wheelers around on lots of land. Plus if you have a fight in the city people would hear you then they would be stickin your nose in your business but, in the country you can have an argument and the neighbors won't care or hear you because it's more open! Plus you can turn your music up all the way and not bother the neighbors any. It is the way to go!

I always thought I was a city person but after 8 years in London it's wearing a bit thin and I have realised that the country is a far nicer place to be. The first chance I get to escape the city I will take it.

Big city, I've done both and I miss the conveniences of the city when out in the country. I'm a night owl and there is more available to do in the wee hours when near a metropolis---in the country, choices are few and far between. I like the culture to be found in the big cities as well---book readings, museums, art galleries, etc. My cousin lives out in the fresh air and there are times that I envy her with the lack of crime and beauty of the country, but then I remember her letter where she bragged about the town's new stoplight and how they all took pictures nearby.
"....I just adore a penthouse view, darling I love you, but give me Park Avenue!"

I used to live about 20 miles from Houston in a section that was not likely to be developed. I had the best of both worlds. I had wide open spaces and close enough to the city to go see sporting events, museums, and concerts.

I think people from big cities such as myself love to think about heading off away from the hustle and bustle of the city into the country. I think it is nice to visit but the reality is that most of us would be bored to death after about a week we are so used to having everything that we need in the city and when we find out that something isn't available it bugs us.
Suburbs are the perfect way to have a little bit of both worlds.

The big city is fun to visit, but the country is the place to live and raise a family.
