~I'm sorry but I had dinner with Mike Crichten and John Grisham the other day and I gave all my fresh ideas to them. They were grateful because the folks they usually get their ideas from were all on vacation. It's gotta be tough on an author when all the idea men leave town at the same time.
I did give some ideas to Tom Clancy that he hasn't used yet and Steve King decided not to go with my last 3, so maybe if you give them a call, they'll share. Ken Kesey keeps saying he's gonna use the ones I gave him, but I think he's high. My best ones are still tied up in Ayn Rand's estate, but I think Sidney Sheldon will end up with them.
Here's an idea. I know it's dumb, but think about it for a few seconds. If you're going to write something, come up with your own ideas. The concept of an author coming up with his or her own ideas will be new and unique in the annals of literary history.

Write something that isn't just fluff. Perhaps a story that is tragic but seeded with small bright moments where sprouts these positive outcomes. Kind of like how ants devouring a crippled animal is outwardly horrid but by entering the mutilated soul you find a flourishing ant civilization and later, a post-mortum flower garden fertilized by, in essence, tragedy. You get the idea, right?

The best place to start is: Write what comes from your heart, use your own experiences & ideas.Other people can give you ideas but they won't be your own. the purpose of writing a book is something that comes directly from your heart & soul.If you really want to be a writer you will apply these practices. I am writng a childrens book myself & I
use my own imagination & ideas to make my characters come alive. I have a book that I am working on that a company wants to publish.Good Luck!!!

Hi there,
I write childrens books. So you could start there. Something quite basic and has a good moral lesson. Also write was means something to you...your hopes and dreams. Julia Cameron is a great teacher for writing practices. You can buy her books from most places.
Good Luck!

why not use something you have experienced? Just use different names, and maybe change things a little. I use personal experience to write my poems. Seems much better then fiction sometimes.
