I have a friend had an affair, we were never very close, but somehow she chose to tell me, I acted as a good firend and was there for her all the time. The affair didn't work out and she was back to her husband, but since then, I feel she is trying to avoid me, last time I called her, she didn't return my call for a month, I was about to forget, finally she called and told me that the reason she didn't call is because she got fired from work and with her husband 24/7( husband work at home), not convinent to talk. Recently I heard that she got a new job, so I called her again and left a massage, she didn't return my call for two days, I was pissed so I called her today to ask what's going on, she picked up the phone and told me the reason she didn't call is because she is too busy with the new job, is there a thing as too busy to return a phone call? am I too sensitive? is she try to avoid me? if that's the case, i don't want to bother.
sorry for the long story.

Too long a story, not enough time to read.

Well, the first part I would believe easily, I just recently got out of a relationship where my fionce was always home and my friends got upset that I could never talk on the phone (overprotective fionce, of course) AS for the second part, if her job is tireing, she may not have had a chance to call you back, try and keep in touch for the next couple of weeks, but if the same thing happens, it could be that her husband is suspicious of you and therefor watches her like a hawk, or she's just not being a very good person.

she'sprobably feeling really stupid. I had a friend who had an affair and i wsa the only one who knew about it , anyways she didn;t return my call for ages so i just thought oh well your loss girl , but after a few months she called to tell me she fely really guilty and that was the reason , just forget her for a while , if your meant to be real friends your paths will cross again , don;t worry too much.

I don't think you're too sensitive. Maybe your friend feels ashamed when she talks to you, because you are a reminder of something she did she knows was wrong. That would be my guess. There is also the possibility that she needed someone to unburden her guilt too, and now that she did...

no, you are not. you just want to keep up your friendship with her.

the next time you call her or she calls you, ask her right away if she wants to keep contacts with oyu or not. Also, tell her that there is nothing such as "busy". it depends on a person's priorities. hope that helps.
