I work out also and I recommend you combine the two.

Alternate hot/cold for periods of two minutes and done as hot as tolerable and as cold as tolerable. Repeat four to six times. The reasoning behind these showers is the hot periods are for vaso-dilation (increased size of vessels) and cold is for vaso-constriction (decrease in size of vessels). The result is improved circulation in the trained areas.

Cold also decreases all of these: swelling, tissue damage, blood clot formation, inflammation, muscle spasms, and pain. At the same time, the cold enhances the flow of nutrients into the area, aids in the removal of metabolites (waste products), increases strength, and promotes healing.

Hope this helps

neither hot nor too cold. I try and coold down my body a little bit before stepping into the shower, after a work out. Sometimes its a good idea to get some steam and then go for the shower.

I don't take cold showers, but I don't take really hot ones after a work out. I usually take a quick shower with medium warm water so I cool off and stop sweating.

Cold shower

A gradual cool down is the key. It gives your heart rate a chance to lower itself to normal and your muscles to relax. A cold shower will cause your muscles to cramp, and you could risk a heart attack if you shock your body with one. If your muscles are sore, sure take a hot one to relieve the pain, otherwise a warm shower is the best. You want your body's pores to close gradually and dissipate the heat generated. A cold shower will close them too quickly, and actually raise your body's core temperature, causing you to start sweating after you've left the gym.

Well, I'd say hot because the hot water would help relax the muscles and allow more blood to flow through the muscle tissues; promoting growth. Cold water would force the muscles to contract restricting blood flow in the muscles; therefore hindering growth. Plus, don't forget - protein consuption should be within the hour after you complete your workout. -lift safe!

None
Cool down before you take a shower.
A cold shower will only increase your chances of catching a virus/flu.
If you must, have a tepid/mild warm shower. of course it won't feel as fresh as a cold shower, but it is far safer.

usually a warm shower is better than cold shower.....cause your body still trying to cool down after the work out....by having cold shower might shock your body system.....

After a really heavy workout.... a bathtub filled with ice and cold water is actually better for your muscles. Not enjoyable, but you will feel better the next day.
