War drives the human race as a species. Look at past wars and the technological achievments/advancments that have taken place through a period of hardship; more than you or I can count. Hitler made so many medical advances in his time (as bad as that sounds it's true) that we struggle to fathom how he did it. If we as a culture were to combine our knowledge and find a center without harming one another, the species as a whole would be thriving and happy, but instead we focus on war and hate. If you really want to know read some Robert A. Heinlein, specifically the book "Stranger in a Strange Land" and "Time Enough for Love". You will be amazed at the amount of crap that we as humans focus our lives around these day. It's all about consumerism now. Nobody cares about their neighbor or friend and we are all prejudice to some extent. There is your answer and if you really want to know you need to do some soul searching of your own. And to the two who answered before me suck on some african goat nuts you stupid airheads. Grow up and do something with your lives.

It seems there's violence everywhere, but thankfully not a full blown World War...yet. Religion is a huge culprit in the instigation of war. How many of the world conflicts under way right now trace their beginning to religious differences? Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Northern Ireland, Somalia, Darfur, Congo...I came up with those without even Googling.
