I hate the word soccer, I hate when English people call it soccer. It is called "Football", reason being, quite obviously, is that footballers kick the ball with their foot.
I want to know why Americans call it soccer, where did that originate from?

No, not just because of Americans. Many other countries also have a national game of football that they call football and it is not soccer - Americans call their football gridiron, yes? Aussies call their national game "Aussie Rules Football", and the Irish have their football too (very similar to Aussie rules) and there are those who call Rugby "football" too...
You call "your" particular homebrand of football "soccer" because that is its known international name...

any nation which brands 'the beautiful game' as "soccer" should be kicked out of the FIFA world cup... when the whole world, from americas to asia... africa and europe calls football, football.... why the hell do the americans (and aussies) have to invent their own terms?
oh well, its not as if they r ever going to win the FOOTBALL world cup :p

Soccer is a 19th century english slang term for football. It's not american. Go on wilkipede website and search for it. It will tell you.
