Can someone give me as much information as possible regarding obtaining a DBA in Texas? I'm interested in price, where to file, liabilities, limitations, just EVERYTHING to do with dba's.

I'm thinking about starting a small design firm, for which I would need the DBA. Tired of working for 'Tha' Man!'

Check out this web site, it has a lot of info: https://www.legalzoom.com/law_library/DBAs/introduction.html

You can file your own DBA at your County Clerk's office-it's not expensive (under $50). You normally have to put a Legal Notice in your local paper too. There are a host of web sites that advertise their ability to do all the work for you and they charge around $150 for their service.
Good luck
