You are stressed out ,you need to walk every day 15 to 45 Min's, your body is not working well because your mind is spinning to much, working out will help , Do not work out late at night , go to a sleep doctor. Lots of people have PTSD. You have to work on it and learn you triggers. Go to church or just pray. You need a higher power and a good support group.

Answering this depends on your prior sleeping habits and your current age and the fact that your symptoms can be related to disorders that have nothing to do with the hours you sleep. You should see a doctor. My partner suffers post traumatic stress - that will mess up your sleep and create other problems too. If it is any consolation, I have heard on more than one occasion on news type shows that people who sleep less actually live longer. As you are seeing a specialist soon, wait for his or her opinion - don't rely on anything you are told on a Yahoo group!

Visiting a doctor is probably a good advice, but: Some people only sleep say 2-3 hours a day. Everybody, however, needs to rest. I don't understand why you wait to get tired finally (7-9 am) an go to bed to rest to sleep till 3 pm If you want a job either look for night jobs or force yourself to go to bed say 11:00 pm and rest for several hours but get out of bed at 6:00 am. Get your life in the correct rhythm.

I can relate. I survived on 4 hrs of sleep for over 10 yrs. and it took a great toll on me. The basic fact is, we NEED sleep to survive. After 48 hrs. without sleep, one will become easily confused., that is followed by dementia. After continued non-sleep, it will, ( beleive it or not), eventually kill you. It's a nec. thing that we take for granted. I've myself made an effort to get more sleep as of late and found, it's quite easy to sleep 10+ hrs. Goes to show you what the body needs after yrs of neglect. Now go get some sleep! You'll feel better.

I had the hair loss, and either lack of sleep or too much sleep. I was diagnosed as depressed, and I have an anxiety disorder as well. So I take my happy pills, and live a semi-normal life.

See the specialist. They can help.

YES FAT!!! I gained like 70 lbs in a year from living in an apartment were I couldn't sleep in, I never got 8 hours straight would sleep wake sleep wake and too otfen went to work not knowing if I really slept at all.stress. sleepness, moody etc. all comes from not sleeping enough or enough quality sleep, skin damage and acne.

Your whole body needs sleep to repair itself

It also ages you so much! It's very hard to reverse AI'm still trying to repair myslef form that year of damage.

I have been running on 3 hours of sleep a night for years with no side effects. I would think your other problems are causing you your problems. Try to see someone about it, or ask your doctor for sleeping pills to solve the problem. But really, it sounds more like a medical condition.

I think it depends on the person. I am able to get 6 hours of sleep per night and feel totally energized thru the day (well except i usually take about an hr nap). if i get more than six hours of continuous sleep, i feel tired ALL day. so i think it just depedns on the person/age/health

I have a lot of stress but will not bother you with it.
No hair loss but feel bad all of the time.
I take valium or excedrin pm to get sleep.
I suggest that you try this if you have not.

Best wishes. I am very sorry for your suffering.
